Concerns for the education sector

  • Summer childcare programming

  • Funded meal programs that are currently at 1000 meals/day end in June

  • Financial viability with decreasing enrollment and class size

  • Rubric for opening

    • Testing for employees and students. Contact tracing.

    • Online, social distancing and mask wearing for early childhood care is unrealistic.

    • Timely access to guidelines for the number of students and social distancing requirements. Concern about meeting space requirements.

    • Need for supplies and PPE for students and staff.

    • Possible financial assistance due to low class size requirements and need for technology.

    • How to prioritize access to care for families working in essential industries?

    • Social-emotional wellbeing a priority as high as, if not higher than, academic progress.

    • Consideration for sharing resources for physical materials, staffing and educational materials.

    • United front with collaboration, policy alignment, consistency across K-20.

    • Workload
